Job Title:  Theatre In-charge

Reports:    Chief Nursing Officer

  1. JOB PURPOSE

Planning, organizing, and coordinating all activities and services in theatre to ensure standard of nursing care in line with the hospital’s policies and procedures.

  1. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervising and ensuring delivery of a professional and high standard of nursing care within the theatre while leading a team of nurses and theatre technicians in delivering individual and team targets.
  • Ensuring all planned departmental activities is geared towards meeting growth and quality objectives in theatre department.
  • Monitor and ensure client satisfaction and proactively manage their complaints as they arise.
  • Evaluate and ensure that nursing care plans are scientific; evidence based and address the priority needs of the patients.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all assets in theatre.
  • Review and approve monthly work schedule (ROTA) to ensure compliance with policy and adequate shift planning and Rota management for nursing and nursing support staff in the department has adequate cover at all times.
  • Actively engage with doctors and other care providers to get feedback on the quality of nursing care in the unit.
  • Monitor and ensure that documentation within the units meets the required quality standards.
  • Participate in formulation and ensure implementation of organizational and departmental policies and procedures (SOPs) and quality Improvement Plans in the section including infection prevention.
  • Identify systems and operational problems and trends for improvement and prepare statistical indicators, reports, findings, propose and implement solutions.
  • Providing leadership, ensuring employee development (including coaching and mentorship), employee engagement and performance management to deliver departmental objectives and goals.
  • Ensure effective communication between staff, patients and members of their families regarding plan of care of their patients.
  • Managing the Nursing budget within the agreed parameters by ensuring efficient resources utilization and taking charge of cost control.
  • Participate in business development and marketing activities and follow-up on customer feedback.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.
  1. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
  • Diploma in KRCHN/ Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
  • Kenya Registered Peri-Operative Nurse training.
  • Valid ACLS and BLS training certificate.
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a General Nurse and 2 Years’ experience as a Perioperative Nurse in busy hospital setup.

Job Title:       Perioperative Theatre Technician

Reports:        Theatre In-charge

  1. JOB PURPOSE

Assisting in preparation of anesthesia, ensuring cleanliness of the theatre, sluicing used linen and instruments, packing and sterilizing of surgical packs/instruments.

  1. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assemble equipment and requirements for induction and reversal of anesthesia.
  • Checking the anesthetic and suction machines for working condition in liaison with the theatre.
  • Participate in positioning of patient for the surgical procedure.
  • Assisting in lifting of the patient during transfer from and to the operating table.
  • Cleaning the operating room after a surgical procedure.
  • Perform high cleaning and dusting of the entire operating room at least once a
  • Decontaminate and clean surgical packs and instruments.
  • Sluice soiled theatre linen after every procedure before taking it to the holding area.
  • Pack/sterilize surgical packs and instruments.
  • Implement the theatre policies and procedures as instructed.
  • Check and maintain records of all theatre movables.
  • Report any faulty equipment or instrument to the theatre nursing officer or the shift leader.
  • Any other duty as assigned by the supervisor in line with the job description.

2. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring continuous growth of the hospitals digital brand through increase of followers and overall outreach in line with hospital’s Marketing Plan.
  • Addressing all online inquires and managing business leads that originate from such avenues with the aim of increasing hospital business.
  • Ensuring timely completion of creative artworks and designs required for various campaigns, promotions.
  • Responsible for addressing videography and photography needs of the hospital.
  • Advising and formulating strategic and innovative digital advertising and Marketing campaigns for the hospital.

  • Addressing queues and responsible for dissolving the queues using proactive initiatives.
  • Addressing patient or family complaints and coming up with solutions for the problems.
  • Coordinating with other OPD HODs to ensure the operations in the unit are customer friendly.

  1. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in BBIT, Marketing& Communication, or any other Business related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Digital Marketing.
  • Excellent data analytics and excel proficiency is a plus.
